We continue to struggle with having enough volunteers! We have dinners and other events we would like to have more events at the lodge. Simply put, we do not have enough volunteers to add more things to the calendar. We need more bartenders, BINGO callers, cooks and servers. The volunteers that we do have need a break, and we are hoping we can get some new faces to sign up. The time and date you volunteer is up to you and can be anywhere from an hour to as many as you want to give. Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. Thank you in advance.
We don’t know about you, but the above question is one we get a little tired of hearing. Especially after 124 years.
But for some reason it is still asked, and the reason for that is most likely that too many Eagles hide our light under a bushel instead of shining it out for everyone to see.
For a century, The Fraternal Order of Eagles has been a major influence internationally, nationally, regionally, in our states and provinces and most of all our communities.
It was the Eagles who started Mother’s Day. Who provided the impetus for Social Security. Who ended job discrimination based on age. Who’ve built training centers all over the world. Who raise millions of dollars every year to combat heart disease and cancer, help handicapped kids, uplift aged and otherwise make life a little brighter for people not as lucky and blessed as we are.
We uphold and nourish the values of home, family and community that are so necessary and, it seems so often today, so ignored and trampled in society.
We’re hometown builders. We support our police and firefighters and others who protect and serve us. We’re volunteers, and we have fun volunteering.
And way too often we are anonymous. Our praises have been sung by Presidents and Prime Ministers, but still today too many people wonder, “Who are the Eagles?”
It’s our fault. It’s time to get the word out: We are the Eagles and for 124 years we have been leaders in the effort to make the world brighter and better.
When your Aerie and Auxiliary does something, don’t be shy about letting people know about it. We are the Eagles and proud of it. It’s time to tell the world.
Angie Thompson Memorial Scholarship Program
These are the 10 students from Taft High School who received a $1000 scholarship from the North Lincoln Eagles #2576.
With family and friends, North Lincoln Eagles in conjunction with the North Lincoln Fire and Rescue were able to sponsor families during the holidays. We deliver food boxes with Christmas Dinner and presents for all children under 18 in the household.
We raise money for this event throughout the year by having raffles, auctions, and dinners. However, we do need your support to make our program successful.
The F.O.E. Charity Foundation hosts a variety of funds - each dedicated to a specific cause - which collect donations from our nearly 3,000 Aeries and Auxiliaries for the purposes of awarding grants to local and/or international organizations dedicated to research and patient care.
In compliance with our promise to use 100% of all donations for the intended purpose, grant recipients are required to prove that no portion of the grant received will be used to fund administrative costs.
Each year our members help give nearly $10 million to community and nationwide organizations helping better lives and donate countless hours of their time to a wide array of fundraisers.
Since 1898, the F.O.E. has worked to establish a philanthropic legacy, becoming the first organization to donate $1 million to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, donating several hundred thousand in aid to help solidify the Truman Cardiovascular Lab and Heart Fund Research Lab at Sutton Medical Research Foundation, and our crown jewel - the $25 million Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center at the University of Iowa.
Eagles are giving people and our Charity Foundation is a perfect representation of why we're known throughout the world as "People Helping People."
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
